We were joined May 21-26 by a small team from St. Paul Evangelical
Church in Cibolo, Texas. While gutting a house near the London Avenue
Canal floodwall breach, where the flooding had been about six or seven
feet, they met a local resident. He told them, "I've never been through
such a hard time as these past nine months, but seeing all these people
coming in from out of town to help us renews my faith in Christianity.
It's not the government rebuilding this city. It's Christians." These
good folks from Cibolo and all the other teams here are making a difference.
Their work shows the community the love of Christ in a practical way.
Jesus Christ promises, "Behold, I am making all things new." This is
the message of the Gospel, and Christ's promise is as true for New
Orleans as it is for the world.
